The dance is sche duled to commence promptly at 8:30. President Harold Ness, the di rector of all committees that have been active in preparation for this event, reports that present indications are that a large at tendance may be expected. He states; “every effort has been put forth to make this the dance of the year. We hope that every stu dent will render suppqrt by being present.” After much consideration the committee on arrangements set the price of admission at 15 cents single and 25 cents for couples. Records will furnish the music. The chaperons will be: Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Gary, Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Grhssman and Mr. and Mrs. A. Swift. Faculty members, Mr. Main, Mr. Howard, Mr. Fors and Mrs. Gottfried. Students Favor Afternoon Games Results of the questionaire re cently handed out show that 166 students favor paying five cents extra for basketball games if they could be held in the after noon. 112 of the students were against it. Student body mem bers questioned were 124 for and 83 against. Non-student body members were 42 for a n d 29 against. Fourteen senior girls favored the afternoon games while eleven did not. Senior boys favored it fourteen to eleven also. Junior girls voted twentysix to eight on the question arid the boys of the same class were fourteen to eleven against it. Sophomore girls were twenty-three to fifteen against it and sophomore boys were twenty-seven to twelve in favor of it. From the freshman class which cast the largest num ber of votes, the girls were for the plan by a majority of thirty- five to fourteen and the boys also, voting thirty to seventeen. Girls Begin Folk Dancing Soon The second semester program in physical education provides that the girls will finish basket ball sometime next week. The basic activity for the next few weeks will consist of instruction in folk dancing. The study of health will be concluded this six weeks, then the girls will start swimming. Twenty girls have been invited to Newberg for Play Day, Feb ruary 14. Those invited are: Rose Ann Thornton, Dolores Wilken, Helen Bottcher, Laura Madison, Mary Martinjak, Pat Silver, Phyllis Van Lanningham, Janet Wievesiek, Ruth Grassman, Vir ginia Lewis, Laverne Maine. The members decided that $.50 would be ap propriate since this would help pay for ammunitions, targets, etc. The club decided to organize into different squads. They plan to hold\ inter-club matches and from these, they will pick the club team. The president, Ray Yoemans, has arranged for the club to use the outdoor range near Robin ‘ wood. Elections Will Be Held March 3rd The West Linn student body held a meeting Monday, Febru ary 3, to nominate students for next year’s offices. Student Body President Harold Ness called the meeting to order. The following students were nominated: President: Tom Ray, Bob Dag gett, Leo Critchfield, William Walston and Bob Donovan. Vice President: Bill Buckles, Richard McMullen, Dwain Wan ker and Bob Gassner. Secretary: Margie Huiras, Pat Rose, Nyda Geske, Pat Silvers, and Arlene Schwartz. Treasurer: Vote of confidence for Winifred Buxman. Assistant Treasurer: Jean Kyllo, Audrey Kern, Suzanne Zimmer man, Audrey Gary, and Nora Worthington.
