An iconic singer-songwriter, accomplished actress and theme park mogul, Ms. Parton— rightfully deemed “The Queen o f Country M usic”— is among the most success ful and influential artists o f the last century. All that, and she has a huge personality. W hat’d you think we were gonna say? O f course, Parton is first to flaunt— and, ever the good sport, kid about— her ample assets, physical and other wise. But it’s the bountiful career highlights— 25 No. 1 singles, a record 41 Top 10 Country albums, a Top 5 hit in each o f as many decades, to name just a few— that have garnered her the adoration and respect o f millions, and prompted an annual evening in her honor. The Dolly Parton Hoot Night, a benefit for Siren Nation, has local performers the likes o f M iz Kitty,Trol ley Jane, Ashia Grzesik, Ruth Oliver, Annie Bethancourt, Heather Perkins, Lauren Sheehan, Ih e Dolly Partners featuring Shelley Short, Laura Ivancie, Huck Notari, Flash Flood, Calico Rose and Mary Flower giving props to the flaxen-maned diva. “Coat o f Many Colors,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene,”“Nine to Five”— it’s a safe bet to expect hearing these standards and more. We’re hoping for an “Islands in the Stream,” too, even if Parton didn’t pen that classic (thank you, Brothers Gibb). One thing’s for sure: a memorable evening o f song— and for a good cause. A f ter all, it takes a Siren Nation to do a siren justice. Sat., Jun e 1 1 ,9 p.m . (doors a t 8 ); M ission Theater, 1624 N W Glisan St.; $10 advance, $12 a t door; sirennation.com. — A manda S churr
