Thompson St. The event will feature drinks provided by Hip Chicks Do Wine, food and complimentary tarot, palm and psychic readings by profession als; in addition, original artwork will be raffled off as door prizes. Admission costs $100, which can be paid in one lump sum or as a $ 10 month ly pledge. BRO held the first “ 100 Chicks, 100 Bucks” fund-raiser in July as a way of encour aging more women to become donors. L e c t u r e D is c u s s e s S a m e * S e x M a r r ia g e A Equity Foundation will honor Karen Keeney and Terry Bean during the fourth annual Investments in Dignity Awards on Feb. 19 E q u it y F o u n d a t io n t o P r e se n t A w ards E quity Foundation, a statewide nonprofit that supports queer-friendly charities, will honor two people who have made significant contributions to the community during its fourth annual Investments in Dignity Awards 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19 at Wieden + Kennedy, 224 N.W. 13th Ave. Karen Keeney, a Portland attorney and founding board member of Equity who has worked on a wide variety of progressive causes, will receive the John Grigsby-Jim Vegher Investments in Dignity Award. In 1992, she was the first open lesbian to be elected as a delegate from Oregon to the Democratic National Convention. Terry Bean, a real estate entrepreneur, national Democratic Party strategist and phil anthropist who has been involved in gay and lesbian politics since 1972, will receive the Torchbearer Award. He was an early founder of Equity, the Right to Privacy PAC, the Human Rights Campaign and the Gay & Les bian Victory Fund. gay couple will deliver a lecture on “Same- Sex Marriage: A Personal Perspective” from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at Northwest Acad emy, 1130 S.W. Main St. Jim Morris and Richard Colombo, who have been in a committed relationship for nearly six years, will discuss the current status of the issue in the United States, the role of religion on both sides of the debate and the proposed constitu tional amendment to define “marriage.” The presentation, sponsored by the Humanists of Greater Portland, is free, but donations will be accepted.
