Organizers are asking for any assistance, auc- tionahle product or service that donors can pro vide. Last year’s event brought in $5,000, and this year’s goal is $12,000. The proceeds will benefit two Love Makes a Family programs. It is being organ ized by South Eugene High junior Jordan Blumberg-Enge, a singer/songwriter and queer activist. Shepard, a gay University of Wyoming student, was savagely attacked Oct. 6, 1998, after two men lured him from a bar, drove him to a remote field, heat him with the butt o f a gun, tied him to a fence and left him to die in near-freezing temperatures outside Laramie, 30 miles northwest o f Cheyenne.
