List year’s 65 dinners brought in $65,000 for the Southeast Portland nonprofit, hut organizers, who are celebrating the event’s 10th anniversary, anticipate exceeding their $75,000 goal this year. Founded in 1988, the 12-bed Our House provides 24-hour medical services and has cared for 400 residents. T h e agency was created as an A ID S hospice but has since expanded its services to keep up with the changing nature of the disease. These days, people can stop by to get regular medications, to receive nutrition advice or simply to talk. Specialized care is in place for those in advanced stages. Dinner at My House, considered to he one of Portland’s premier culinary events, will offer more than 80 delectable meals served in private homes, gardens and restaurants through March 2003. Chefs of all varieties will be serving their creations, including Caprial and John Pence of Caprial’s Bistro, Philippe Boulot of the Heath- man Restaurant and Wcxxly Clark of Crush. Dinners are priced between $ 6 0 and $ 150 a person, depending on the menu and variables such as location and entertainm ent. Each host covers the cost of the dinner party and donates all proceeds to Our House. T he range o f meals being offered is astound ing. From Cajun to Tuscan, tapas to Indian, Japanese to Mediterranean and American bar becue to French, dinners will span the seasons. We meet new people every year.” Our House board member Barbara Dunn has been attending the fund-raiser for seven years. She has worked directly with it for two years and is very enthusiastic about its possibilities. “It’s an honor to be part of Our House,” Dunn exclaims. “I have met so many people over the years.
