From the Boston Juuroalof Commerce. , Johnson & Clark, proprietors of The New 1 Ionic, are accorded the credit of presenting their wares in the hitndsomcst pavilion in the whole Exposition, The architects were Messrs, Harti.e.1 & Kwwwv, of thin city (Philadelphia!. Building and ftiniinhing by the well known fiini of Uaiicroft & IJoyden. Style of architecture known as the media vul. The material of the building is constructed is black walnut. It is 16 feet wjuarc by 25 feet extreme bight. From the floor springs a beautiful balus- tnule, enclosing the space occupied. On j this arc the words, "New Home Sew ing Machine," in gold letters. Running up from the balustrade and supporting the frieze and superstructure arc 12 massive columns, relieved in gold and ornaments dividing each sitle into three equal spaces, the central one forming entrances, the others draped and having the apjiearance of open windows. From the frieze of the roof slopes to wards the centre, on each side meeting an elegant band of rich carved work, from which springs a dome, encircled at the top by a richly designed cornice, On the summit of the dome is an ele gantly carved figure, five feet in height, representing Peace with out-stretched anus, holding a laurel branch. The interior of the edifice is in keeping with the exterior, arranged as an ele gant drawing room. The slope of the roof above is of plate glass, giving free access to the liht. From the centre of the dome stispendH an elegant chan dulier. The Hour is covered with rich carpet. The cost of the building and furnishing was nearly $s,ono. So much for the casket; now iW the tontents. Thev also are receiving large orders for " The New Home," which combines all the essential qualities of liiM-classmachines,iloing a wider range of work thiin other machines, Every part is nude interchangeable. Only lite best materials are used. Wearing parts are hardened and constructed with a special view of procuring easy running, durable, simple and iilumst noiseless machines. All their machines on ex hibition are superbly finished anil orna mented in novel designs. The manu facturers fell justified in an unusual out lay to attract the attention of visitors at the Exposition, having the fullest con fidence tn their merits. spring, 1870.
