The month of September is generally a pretty busy one fn the flower garden. All decaying flower stems should bo cut back and preparation! made for seeding hardy annuali and perennial, which hod beet be done during September with the latter and early in November with the former. Any of our reader who Intend taking up plant for winter blooming should preire for it now. QWm all old pot a thorough washing inside and outside, and if new pot are to be used, soak tliuw in wator for 48 hours. Collect all the broken pot, mall pebble, etc., (charcoal is really the best), to be used for drainage at bottom of pots, and prepare COMPOBT FOR F0TT1HO by mixing rotted od from a loamy pasture and rotted refuse hops (a year old) from a browory in the proportion of two of soda to one of hops, a spoonful of powdered eliurcoal mixed in each pot, will bo found to do wonders.
