School Elections. At a well attended school election held In this city Monday afternoon* Charles Nunan was unanimously elec ted school director of district nuubir one to succeed William Johnson. Th e people of Jacksonville are to bo con gratulated on securing Mr Nunan in this capacity as he is well known and liked, having lived nere many years and will doubtless prove an alert, fair- minded official. At this same election the budget of expenditures for the ensuing school year was voted upon and carried. The special election held Friday af ternoon to determine whether the local high school be continued or whe ther the pupils attend the Medford high school, resulted in a vote of 43 to 5 in favor of reopening the Jackson ville school. The school board has re cently received applications for posi tions from four high school teachers and the mittir of securing teachers which was a factor in closing the school can now be satisfactorily arr anged.
