At the council meeting Thursday night an ordinance was read for the first time pretaining to a city library. It was embodied in the ordinance that a tax of not to exceed of one mill be levied for the maintaenance of said library. Aside from the regular mon thly bills the street supervision was in structed to repair certain streets. The Rogue River Valley Railroad had an accident Thursday night and the regular train was unable to reach this city until a late hour. The pass engers were brought to this city in automobiles. Chas. Nunan one of the members of the Nunan Taylor Co., left Thursday for Portland where he will seek em- ployment in a bank. Frank Crump of Little Applegate transacted business with the Jackson- ville merchants the first of the week.
