At the council meeting Thursday
night an ordinance was read for the
first time pretaining to a city library.
It was embodied in the ordinance that
a tax of not to exceed
of one mill
be levied for the maintaenance of said
library. Aside from the regular mon­
thly bills the street supervision was in­
structed to repair certain streets.
The Rogue River Valley Railroad
had an accident Thursday night and
the regular train was unable to reach
this city until a late hour. The pass­
engers were brought to this city in
automobiles.
Chas. Nunan one of the members of
the Nunan Taylor Co., left Thursday
for Portland where he will seek em-
ployment in a bank.
Frank Crump of Little Applegate
transacted business with the Jackson-
ville merchants the first of the week.
