1 COURT HOUSE Because of the legal holidays this week, no business was transacted by the courts. They will resume Monday unless the Governor wills it otherwise. R. T. Burnett and W. R. Coleman, two of Jackson connty’s popular offici als went fishing yesterday in Rogue river. They have not yet ubmitted a report of their catch. Sheriff D. H. Jackson returned from Marysville, Cal., with a Greek, who is charged with assault, committed near Siskiyou station. The sheriff also brought back a runaway lad from Med ford who was found at Redding. George Baker of Klamath Falls was brought to Jacksonville Wednesday by Sheriff Jackson. An examination was held Wednesday evening by Dr. Hester and the prisoner was adjudged insane. He is also suffering from a severe at tack of erysipelas. An attendant of the asylum at Salem came down after the unfortunate man Thursday. Baker is a cook and was employed for three years at the dwell ranch. Notice to Purchasers of School Warrants. Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the office of Gus Newbury, district clerk of school district No. One of Jackson County, Oregon in Jacksonville, Oregon, on the 7th day of November, 1907 at 10 o’clock in the forenoon of said date, for the purchase of $11,000.00 of negotiable in terest bearing school warrants, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent per annum, said warrants to be issued by said district in compliance with the vote and order of the legal voters of said district made in special school meeting on April 29th, 1907; that said warrants will be drawn in sums of $500 each and will be drawn payable on or before four years after date of issue. Conklin, sexton of theJackson- ville cemetery, complains that his tools at the graveyard are used by people visiting there and are sometimes left wherever they happen to be using them; lumber that is used for various purposes has been destroyed. He says that if such keeps up he will be neces sitated to lock the tools and lumber in the tool house, which will be a great inconvenience to the visitors. It would be just as easy for users of these tools to take care of them and return them, and unless they do so, they will have to bring their own. in the recorded plat of Pool and Klippel’s addition to the town of Jacksonville.
