Mr. Sayles, the news stand and candv man, has sjiecially favored the Normal by the donation of the Daily Oregonian for the library and reading room. Next! The Normal bus will leave Winter’s corner next Monday morning at 8:30 and return at 11:30; so it is not neces sary for students boarding in town to take < I inner along the first day. The treasurer of the Board will lie at the building the forenoon Monday to re ceipt for tuition. The students will have the afternoon to buy their books. The bus fart* is 21., cents each way or 5 cents round trip. Tickets for two weeks or a month can be purchased of Mr. . Newton, the driver. M ore than half of the newspapers in which the Normal advertisements ap pear are contributed to the reading room for the year. The others will be freely given as soon as asked for. Prof. Miles, Miss Ada Thomas, Miss Fielder, and a large number of students will arrive Saturday * from the north. Chitwood, of Medford is visit ing in Ashland. —Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Homes returned from Gold Hill last Saturday. —Mrs. S. M. Cowles and daughter, Mrs. Flo. Otto, are spending a few weeks at .Tolman springs. —Thos. Frisby ami family, of Camp Creek, Lane county, will shortly return to Ashland to reside. —Miss Susie Homes went to Gold Hill last Thursday. She will teach school near that place. —Clarence Farnham, W. E. Jacobs ami F. M. Drake left for an outing at Pelican Bay last Friday. —The family of R. T. Melius returned home Saturday from a two weeks’ out ing in the Dead Indian country. —A. F. Cornutt, Principal of the South Ashland Public School, returned from Mvrtle Creek last Wednesday. • • —Rev. E. P. Childs went to Jackson ville on last evening’s train, to attend the County S. S. Convention in session at that place. —Homer Loucks, son of J. D.
