W. C. T. U. Gleams. |T’S HUMAN NATURE BEEF, PORK, MUTTON, + + + VEAL Following are the resolutions adopted at the third annual meeting of the W. C. T. U., May 12, 13 and 14, 1896: 1st.—The Lord of Hosts is our Com mander; by His power we have been permitted to assemble in our third an nual convention of Jackson county. We feel that because of His goodness, we are under renewed abligations, and hereby WHERE BEST AND CHEAPEST pledge ourselves with earnest zeal to be more faithful in this great soul saving service of the W.C. T. U. 2d.—We reaffirm onr allegiance to the undying principles of the temperance cause, and hold in veneration the names of the pioneers who so grandly inaugu rated this movement. 3d.—Our venerable Bro. Neil Dow, later Mother Thompson, as leader of the brave band of crusaders, who vanquish Klum & Crisler, Prop’rs. ed many a foe by their persistent sup plications. And on down the line come our grand co-workers, Francis E. Wil Ashland, Oregon lard and Ladv —_ • Henrv • Somerset, whom Main Street, God, in His wisdom, has raised up for such a time as this.
