The former will soon open a butcher shoo at the Falls. The electric road survey comes down near Browiisboro uud from theme cuu tinues to Eagle Point. The bad weather of the. par week has "jarred" the nerves of some of our citizens, as two of them came near a collision, but better counsels prevail ed. It will be found the better prac tiee to strictly attend to one's own busiues sand not obnoxiously "butt into" other's matters. J. P. Hughes, merchant of Butte Falls, drove to Medford Friday to se cure supplies for store and new build ing. W. H. Moore of Medford drove a par ly of three to the Falls ou u business trip. C. V. Skein, land atornev of the Southern Pacific railroad, was exam ining the lands of the railroad here abouts during the past week, and while here visited the unsurveved section and said that this tract would be surveyed July 1. He does not take a very hope ful view of conditions and evidently is out to look over the land nnd report to the railroad company so it may be prepared to scrip the land. The home steaders should look after their rights. for the railroad people have their eyes on the unsurveved. Tulce no chances. Write t oyour eougressmuu and sena tor. Mr. Wilson of the unsurveved lauds has gone on a visit to Medford. Frank Xiel has gone to Medford on business. He reports that the roads are getting some better, Emit Pech, late of Little Butte, vis ited Butte Falls lately with a view of opening a business store. He was very favorably impressed with the town and particularly with the splendid water power of the owners of the townsite. The Iowa lumber enmp has about ten acres of timber cut and are about to saw the logs into lumber and store the same upon the camp grounds awaiting transportation out. Butto Falls Lumber company is turn ing out some fine finishii g lumber and have the shingle mill in operation. Tho Medford Commercial club should push the railroad interests to tho Falls if Medford expects to reach a popula tion of 25,000. The railroad will do it. JACKSONVILLE ITEMS. Dr. B. P.
