3 WHO WILL GET THE "REO" AUTOMOBILE? THE MEDFOKD DAILY TRTBUXE, MEDFORD, OR., MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17. 1908. The All-absorbing Topic Nowadays-Each Succeeding! Day Brings The First Prize Nearer lhe MiGcesstul Candidates-Contestants Given Ride In Prize Auto And All of Them in Rapture Over Machine. CUT THIS OUT. MEDFORD TRIBUNE AND SOUTHERN ORE G ONI AN GRAND PRIZE CONTEST Good for TWENTY-FIVE VOTES when used as a nomination blank. FOB DISTRICT NO This Coupon, cut out and mailed to the Contest Department, or depos ited in the ballot box at the Tribuno Oi flee, will count as one vote for the i.idy whose name is filled in. COUPONS SHOULD BE SENT FLAT, NOT ROLLED OR FOLDED The last week of the contest lias now started an dthe race is nearly over. Al though today is Monday and as a gene oral thing the votes do not come in very fast the first day of the week, the" candidates are not letting any grass grow under their feet and are not let ting up for a momenet. Votes and sub scriptions have been coming into the office all day and from appearances at the present time they will come in fas ter than ever from now until the close of the contest Saturday evening at 10 o 'elock. The candidates now realize more than ever the necessity of not letting one of the few remaining days go by without securing as many subscriptions as pos sible. And votes mean prizewinners. But it is the contestants who get the most nf these votes who will get the prizes, and the time is now very short in which to get them. Starting Saturday morning, the double-vote offer extension went iu to effect and the contestants will re ceive the same number of votes as were given the first week of the double-votee offer. The doublet'-vote extension will close on Thursday evening and the remain ing two days of the contest will see the original schedule of votes, or, in other words, the same number of votes will be given the last two days as were given the tirst of the contest. With But Five Days Homaining before the final count of the contest and all the candidates and their friends working hard, the excitement at the close promises to be intense and this is the time that the candidates must surely make as much increase in their respective standings as they pos sibly can. With the double-vote offer running as it does for several days yet anil the contest starting in as it does on the home stretch, it behooves every candidate to make the most of the re maining time. Notice to Candidates. Vote coupons will not appear in the paper again after tomorrow, Tuesday. The vote coupon in Tuesday's paper will count for five votes and thousands of votes can be accumulated in this way. Do not forget that the vote coupon will not appear in the paper after Tuesday, and all paper-voter votes must positively be in the ballot box at the Tribune office by 6:30 p. m., Wednes day, in order to be counted, otherwise they will be void and will be thrown out The last official standings of the can didates to appear in the paper will be in the issue of Thursday evening, and from that time until the close of the contest the standings will be the same in the issues of Friday and Saturday. There will do no votes counted after Wednesday evening until the close of the contest, when the judges to be se lected this week will make th final count. On Wdnesday night the ballot box will be opened for the last time and when locked again the keys will be turned over to one of the judges who will keep it in his possession until the box is opened for the last count, j?ay particular attention to this and do not forget that the position you will hold in the paper on Thursday evening will be the same you will have in the papers of Friday and Saturday. And, once again, do not lose sight of the fact that the paper votes will not be accepted after Wednesday, Feb ruary 19. Now, it is up to you, and with a lead of a few thousand votes over vour closest competitor does not mean that Miss Laura Neuber, District No. 3. you will win in a walk, because she may have a little something up her sleeve to surprise you with, so do not think that because you have the lead the au tomobile is yours. " But three more days of the double- vote offer reinnining, and it behooves yo utn get in and from now on until the end make every moment count. In terest your friends in your behalf as you never have done before, tiet busy yourself, come to the office, get receipt hooks to give to your friends, so that they may secure subscriptions that mean double votes for you. The ex tension of the double-vote offer has been the means of bringing interest in the contest to fever heat, and the con testants are not losing a moment. Have you taken advantage of the double-vote of f erf If you have you are in a fair position to be acclaimed one of the winners, nml if you have not you have simply demonstrated to ymir friends who have assisted von that you lack ability and aggressive ness. But a Few Days And the contest is a thing of the past, (let in now and dig as you never have before. You cannot afford to let up in vour efforts now t hat t he race is so nearly over. Get in now and make th most of every moment until the ballot box closes for once and for all. In this evening's issue there nppenrs the picture of one of the most popular of the many candidates, Miss l,nurn N'euber, of District No. 3. Miss Neuber has been a hard anil onscieiitious worker siuce the contest started and there are many friends of the young lady who declare that if per sistent work coupled with a pleasing personality will win the auto. Miss Neu ber will be the fortunate lady to take the machine home. The lieo Automobile was on the streets all day Saturday and attract ed all kinds of attention. A largo number of tho candidates were out for a spin and they one and all claim that if they do not win the car it will not be because they arc not working, but as to who will tako the car home with them will be decided on Sntrtrdny evening. Actuated by this opinion, the company has never yet misrepresented as to the character of the vuil or the quality of the fruits produced on same, with the result that all who have bought orchards through this agency so far eould sell out, if desirable, at an advance of 100 to o'Kt per cent above the purchase price. This is a history of which we are proud, and we shall continue along the same lines in the future. Men who come into this favored valley looking for a new place of abode are entitled to fair treatment. We only ask of them that they will exercise ordinary business sagacity in investigating the resources of the valley before buying. There are three things the average investor wants, if he bui country property in this valley. First and foremost, he wants a home wnere he and his family enn enjoy good health and the fruits of this section. I'snally he wants to get located where he is within easy reach of the leading commercial centers and dose to local markets. And he always wants property which will bring in a good income and is sure to advance in value art the valley develops. Will he be apt to find this combination in the hands of the street corner broker or th average "butter in" who persecutes the homeseeker about the hotel offices! When one considers that the situation is not urging many men with good holdings to sacri fice their property here, it is up to the hono-sceker to apply to the regular dealer for what he want. If he wants the VERY BEST IN THE WHOLE VALLEY he nutt apply to the Rogue Kiver Land Company. When in Med ford, do uot fail to call on the AT THE EXHIBIT BUILDING. Rogue River Land Go.
