One of the recent crimes committed in this line was the looting of the dwelling of Hunt Lewis at S!l North Nineteenth street. The burglary was committed Sunday evening between the hours of ! and 10 o'clock, during the temporary absence of th'' family from the house. Although the neighborhood is thickly populated, the thieves forced an entrance to the house without attracting attention to their movements. Once inside they ran sacked the rooms at their leisure, over hauling the contents of closets, bureaus an desks in their search for valuables. In one of the sleeping apartments the thieves ft ni ml two scarf pins, Tn nn ot her room was found a revolver be longing to a member of the household. These articles the thieves appropriated, they being of the total value of about !foll.
