Known as Bob, he was born Feb. 23, 1965, to Rob- ert P. Sr. and Zorna (Root) Brummel. He was married two times and served in the National Guard for 16 years. Bob enjoyed camp- Virginia Anne Thompson, 77, of La Grande, died May 6 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash- ington. At this time no public services are planned. Ar- rangements are entrusted to Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center. Virginia was born May 24, 1941, to Harmon Eu- gene and Elanor Van Winkle in Cottage Grove. The family lived in Spry and later moved to Vale to farm, where Virginia grad- uated from high school. On Feb. 26, 1961, she mar- ried Victor Thompson in Elgin. Virginia worked at Val- ley View Manor for a few years before going to work for the Elgin Ply- wood Plant for 31 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Virginia loved to drive cars and loved to be out- doors, chopping wood, fishing and mushroom- ing. She was a hardwork- ing wife, mother and grandmother. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. May 18 at the La Grande Church of Christ. Blake was born July 23, 2017, in La Grande, to Kaden and Krystle Hines. Though he didn’t live very long on this earth, he touched the hearts of all who knew him. Baby Blake loved everyone and was constantly smiling. He had an infectious smile and giggled all of the time. Blake loved playing with cars, cuddling with his pet puppies, reading books, building with blocks, and giving hugs and kisses. He enjoyed playing in the water and loved bathtime. Blake especially loved snuggling with his mom- my and daddy. Blake was his family’s little ray of sunshine and he will continue to shine in their hearts every day until we see him again. He was the light of their lives and the star of their hearts. In 1992, Lila and Albert returned to their beloved Montana as caretakers on a beautiful ranch in the Bitterroot Valley. In 2013, when they were in their early 80s, they re- tired to their final earth- ly home in Churchill, Montana. Lila was a strong, wise and very gentle wife and mother. She loved music and had a beautiful, har- monizing voice that she used often to praise her Lord. Her family provid- ed a scripture in her hon- or: “Many women have done excellently but you surpass them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30). Lila had a kind and encouraging influ- ence on many more peo- ple than she realized. Surviving relatives in- clude her sister, Bertie Clowers; brother, Miles Finch; children and their spouses, Larry and Sha- ron, David and Judy, Re- imer and Kathleen, Robert and Karen, and Beverly and Bruce Donnell; and 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with more on the way.
