This year, The Wallowa Union Railroad Authority was expecting $95,000 from The Railroad Track Maintenance Tax Credit, but did not receive it. Otherwise known as the 45G Tax Credit, this money helps short lines and general rail- roads across the country with maintenance costs through a federal income tax credit.
