Perishable Food . Supply Cut Off By Chicago Strike CHICAGO, May 19 (UP) Sat urday shoppers' at most of the 4,000 "strikebound" Chicago gro cery stores were unable to buy perishable foods today as 6,500 striking truck dri.'ers continued their refusals to haul food, mer chandise and war matcricls. Spokesmen for the city's three largest grocery companies said the strike of the independent Chicago truck drivers union in an attempt to enforce wage de mands, had completely stopped deliveries of fruits, green foods and other perishables. They re ported stocks of meat, poultry, fish and butter comparatively un the foods were hauled for the affected by the walkout because most part by members of Amer ican Federation of Labor unions not on strike. Smaller grocery dealers re ported that supplies of milk and bread also were being delivered by AFL drivers. Dealers for the city's chain stores said their staple back-room stocks probably would hold out for a week. Summer ville Matron Is Called By Death Leva' Lockle Wugoner, 34, Suminervillo, died yes'.erday at a local hospital following a lin gering illness. She leaves her husband, James H. Wagoner three sons, Bill Hen ry, Paul Duane, Linnlc Earl; two daughters Trula Ruth and Re becca Etta, all of Summerville, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Baird ond two brothers and four sisters who reside in the cast. She was born March 28, 1911 in Buladean, N. C, and had re sided in Union county about 11 years. She' was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services will be con ducted at 2 p. m. Four Die in Crash Of Roosevelt Car MIDDLETOWN, N. J., May 19 (UP) Four persons were killed and two injured today when Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt's convertible automobile struck a truck near Montgomery, N. Y. All six vic timcs were Negroes, police said. They were riding in Mrs. Roose velt's car. Police said the truck was parked on the road and thut the Roosevelt car struck it. Mrs. Roosevelt's choul four James J. Johnson, jr., 25, who was driving the car, was Injured. The Dutchess county sheriff's office received a report from Mrs. Malvina Thompson, Mrs. Roose velt's secretary, that the cor failed to return to the Roosevelt Inline after taking Mrs. Roosevelt lo the train at Poughkeepsie last night.
