Capt. Walter A. Bean announced Corporal Nyllc P. Lewis have been transferred to the national guard reserve, and that two openings for experienced men now exist In the company. Over four routes private nlrlines relieved the army of the mall carry ing, and. postal officials said at Washington that other routes would be surrendered to commercial ships within the next few days under the contrncts awarded last week. The driver ascribed the accident to tho glarhig headlights of another car, the license number' of which ho was un able to obtain. The name of the man from Union was not given on the re port, which stated that ho Is in the La Grande hospital. Other passengers were John Wahclse and Walter Pond.
