KOPP TO TALK IN BAKER Rev. Clarence A. Kopp, rector of Sc. Peter's Episcopal church, will de liver the address tonight when the Baker chapter Rose Croix No. 3 will observe the ceremony of "extinguish ing the lights" In the Masonic temple at Baker. A dinner will be served by members of the Eastern Star and the address and ceremony will follow. The ceremony Is a part of the Scottish Rite ritual. CARS COLLIDE ON ADAMS AVE. Cars driven by Parker H. Lyman, of Portland, and Glen Davis, figured In a collision on Adams avenue near Cherry street Tuesday, according to a report made to the police. No one was hurt. . PORTLAND, Mar. 20 W CHanc ing Irani her window, Mrs. W. J. Sheridan discovered with amazement that apparently only three or four plants remained ln a plot she had planted to pansles the day before. Suspecting vandals, she hurried to the spot In her backyard. She gasped aa she stopped short of the brink of a circular cavern, 4 feet across, and. 62 feet deep. In tlie center of this plot Mrs, Sheridan and her 6-year-old granddaughter had spent an hour the previous day plant ing the flowers. There had been no Indication that this section or the garden had rested on ft rotting .board floor covering the uncharted pit. Scores of times each year she and her family had walked over the spot. Neighbors recalled, however, that many years ago a brick yard was op erated where the .house now stands. A hard rain yesterday was believed to have caused! the cave-In. A contractor said 30 or 35 large wagon loads of earth would be necessary to fill the hole. TWIN BROTHER OF A. MILNE PASSES AWAY Alfred Milne received the sad news of the death of his twin brother, John, In Klamath Falls yesterday. He was born In Peterhead, Scotland May 13, 1881. He lived ln The Dalles for 20 years and moved to Klamath Falls less than a year ago. The after effects of flu caused his death. Sur vivors include his widow, three sons and one daughter, two brothers, A. S. Milne, of The Dalles, and Alfred Milne, of La Grande, and a slater, Mrs. Thomas Low, of Frultdnle. Funeral services will take place in The Dalles Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal church, of which he was vestryman for a number of years. He also was a member of the Masonic lodge. Alfred Milne will leave for The DallcB tonight to attend the funeral.
