We have had sheath silhouettes, wooden soldier silhouettes and a va riety of plain and fancy silhouettes right on down to wasp waists and bustles. But a silhouette that sug gests a constant tripping along with the breeze has a feeling of movement and Joyousnees about It that is new and very exciting. The wind-blown silhouette for spring has captured the spirit of going forward and get ting ahead that Is so typical ot the confidence with which wo greet this new season. Front fullness ' "Interest at the front" Is the first rule for smart spring coata. Tie Silk Frocks Are Useful. In Wardrobe If you didn't have a tie silk last year, you mfissed a lot , of joy. And tie silks are going to be smarter than ever this spring. They wear, they pack, they never look rumpled. Sim ple lines distinguish tie silk fash ions. For town or Bports you couldn't make a happier choice.. The fabrics for scarfs and bags are stimulants to tailored costumes. Brown with a dash of orange, navy with a dash of red, or black with a dabh of green, in matohlng scarf and bag sets will add just the right touch of spring to dark, frocks and suits. Tie silk patterns offer a wide se lection, but they are neat little color punctuations that always cross their T's and dot their I's very precisely. On dark or light grounds there Is a choice of plaids, tweedy effects, stripei?, checks, dots, or whirligigs that defy definition, but repeat them selves indefinitely, There are horse shoe patterns, too, but do be care ful. Too many horseshoes may .not prove lucky. Knttlhili Colora Brown, green, navy and black cover pretty thoroughly the basic costume color problems, and they are plenti fully represented In the tie silk back ground. The accent) colors ore yours to play with, whether you plan a dress or ensemble, or Just matched accessories. If you feel very English about your tie silks (which la a very smart way to feel.) true English madder colors are grounds for smartness. Cowl and draped ef fects are smart because they bundle you up at the neck and are a cool way to achieve a very high neckline. Scarfs that match coat linings are the final word in ensembles that are sure to register.
