IMV I - The Firestone Tire &i -Robber Company continued its cversviden ing scope of activity with thi! re cent opening of Firestone-Kis- pania's new plant at Bilbao, Spain. A large staff of Firestone's Ameri can technical and production men were sent to Spain for the erection and operation of the plant. Harvey b. tircstone, Jr., son of the rubber pioneer and a director of the Spanish Company, repre sented the Firestone organization at the opening of the new plant, where the governor of Viscaya Province, the mayor of Bilbao, lead ing bankers of the country and 300 tire dealers of Spain gathered. Mr. Firestone, addressing the as sembly at the inaugural luncheon in Spanish, said, "Spain has already recognized the value of highway transportation by the construction of tine hard surfaced arterial roads. We will lend every possible assistance to onr Spanish associ ates in their sincere desire to serve efficiently and economically the rapidly increasing automotive needs of the nation."
