Deer ore numerous and some have been killed closo to Enterprise. Latest bucks reported are those of J. R. Wag ner and Kenneth Hall. The beautiful 4-polnt buck killed by Mr. Wagner weighed 235 pounds. The queerest deer story so far Is that of the Marks hoys of Imnaha who were hunting on the Harl Butte country. Having seen no deer they were resting at the head of a, very stoop hill and rolling rocks down the lull. One of the rocks struck mm un- susDectlntr buck, breaking both Its bind legs. , Apple Picking Starting This Week at Imbler IMBLER (Special) Apple picking i has started on Winter Bananas, a ! minor variety here, so harvest will not be under way in earnest until the picking of Jonathans beginning next week. Crops are vorlablo with good crops on some orchards, fair in others and some not worth harvest ing. On the whole the crop is dis appointing and not more than half of the earlier estimate will bo ship ped. Growers and shippers are guess ing about 100 cars, a revision of mid summer estimates of between 200 and 300 carloads. Minimum prices established for ap ples under the N. B. A. will no doubt prove of great benefit to the north west as a whole; To this district, so far. It Is Just another headache. Yakima, Wenatohee end Southern Idaho are offering freely at the mini mum price and 'buyers will obtain this .better known wult from tnesa major districts. As we are unable t: shade the price as we have liad to do on the domestic market. So far the export market has been disappoint ing although the European crop is Slightly smaller than last-year when orders wcro plentiful. An effort is fceing made to make a small differential in price between this and the larger districts. Some are predicting a much better apple market by mid-winter as the national crop Is not a large one and improving economic conditions may held. THE BUNGLE FAMILY Ah, That Sibyl!
