The recommendation of $225,000 for tho La Orande waterworks -pro ject reconstruction of the Boaver creek pipeline and construction of a municipal power plant Is believed to be of a tentative nature as fur as the amount goes. La Orande voted a $267,000 bond Issue July 31 for this project, and the brief for submis sion to the Oregon public works ad visory board , has not yet been com pleted. 01ty Manager Angus McAl lister expects to present this brief to the board as soon.es It Is ready, and the belief here Is that the $257,000 amount will replace the $226,000 list ed' Wilcox's recommendations late Wednesday." - Ml J t ! In presenting the projects, the gov. ernor's board placed the state projects first on the theory they will benefit all the people of Oregon. Water works were next In line, followed by sewage disposal plants. The , La Grande, Elgin and Wallowa projects were listed In the two first groups on the list. The next step through which this great program must go Is approval by the new board, consisting of Haney, Robert N. Stanfteld and C. C , Hock ley; then authorization of Marshall N.
