PRUNE MARKETING CODE DRAFTED AT SATURDAY MEETING A code to regulate tho marketing 01 iresn .prunes was drafted at meeting of shippers of Southern Ida ho and the Walla Walla and Yakima valleys here on Saturday. The code will be presented to a full meeting or shippers soon and when approved it will be sent to Washington, D. O, for approval. . Continuing ethics and practices to be followed, the code must bo en dorsed by a majority of factors in. terested In the prune deal before It can be adopted. It was brought out that a survey of the Walla Walla valley by the federal inspection service had showed a production this year of only 720 carloads as against a normal crop of moo to 1400 carloads. The 720 fig ure is about 60 per cent of normal. Last year's production was 1200 cars of which only about 800 were shipped. Shippers at the meetlnir included L. D. Rjlch, Swing Stephens, R. D. Monahan and Prank Lamb of the Walla Walla-Milton Prcewater divi sion; George Hodgln and George Preos, representing an advisory com mittee of shippers from Walla Walla. and representatives from Yakima and Idaho.
