Why will men make a mystery of the coming or tne Lord? They call Him a "man" and He declares: "I and the Father aro one." They say: "He is like ourselves: we are like Him; only not yet bo perfect," and Ho crlea; "I am the vine, ye aro the branches . . . without Me ye can do nothing." They say: MHe Is the car penter's son," and He declares: "Bo- fore Abraham was, I am." They say "Ho came to show us the way," and He replies: "I am the Way." Why will not men take him at His word? A great scion tint, discussing th prob ability of thoro being a Ood hack of, and directing, the marvelous uni verse in which wo find ourselves, de clares hlo belief that there Is. , Why? Bacauso he finds It so much easier things, than to beltove that such a marvelously complex and wonderful unlvorso could be the product of mere chance, of "unintelligent, hap hazard happonlngs," as he expresses it. it Is easier to believe the truth than "In the beginning God created to believe In an Intelligent Divtn Being, creating and sustaining alt the heavens and the earth," thtu to believe the man-made folly that It all-Just "happened." It is easier to go through life, facing its difficulties; striving for true manhood and true womanhood, believing In the slmpW statements of the Lord Jeaus Christ, believing In the Lord Himself, than to face it in any other way.
