II Market for eggs shows a generally fully steady tone locally with both buying and selling values well main tained. Very weak trading tone Is reflected In the market for country killed lambs, both old and new crop. This Is merely following the lead jot the livestock market. While there was no general change In .the price of country killed hogs for the weekend, the situation ap pears weaker as a result of the latest cut In livestock. Veal are Just about holding. Quality California strawberries showed generally maintained price for the weekend with the best 20s still moving up to 2 crate. Offgrade stuff Is reported at various prices; mostly around 1.05. . First California garnet potatoes of the new season have been received here. They arrived by truck, being brought In by a brokerage firm. In itial supply priced around 7140 lb. First Northwest grown cabbage of the new season was offered during the weekend session of the East Bide Farmers' wholesale market. Tho cab bage was of excellent quality and priced sl.25 per crate of one dozen head. It was grown at Mllwaukle. New Lablsh spinach was offered as well as local stock around 16c orange box generally. Hogs 6228 for week. Market showed little change In price, values In gen eral ranging around (4.50, but on Fri day there was a loss of 15c, which carried extremes down to (4.35 for best light butchers. Strong weight, heavy sorts and even slaughter pigs were held around (3.500(4.00 gener ally with packing sows (3.00 (3.25 and feeder pigs generally around (3.50. Sheep and lambs 3718 for week. There was extreme weakness In old crop fed lambs and In ewes, but springers held fairly steady as to price jdurlng the period. Others were 50c (1.00 lower with ewes reaching the lowest price ever quoted here at 50c. All classes were extremely depressed at the weekend. Best spring Lamb were quoted to (6.50 with bulk hit ting (4.00(6.26; strictly choice old crop fed lambs were quoted to (5.00. but bulk sales were (3.509(4.25 and less; ewes showed a spread of 50c T?
