Sho was prominent in Hebekah, Kusl.ern Star and other fraternal circles in JOasturn Oregon. . o ' Glvn Splendid Party Kollowing their custom, the La dies' Aid society of Alicel gave their annual Christmas parly to the' children of that section of the vnlleyV yesterday nrternoon, 'with Mrs. Tom Wallslnger, Mrs. Hay Fuller and Mrs. Louie Slandley as the hostesses. The children of the Aliri'l and Valeria schools had been SEASONABLE .RECIPE ; Oatmeal Mucmoun " Two cups oatmeal. Two cups brown sugar. Two cups flour. One cup melted butler. One cup cocoanut. One teaspoon soda (scant). One-half teaspoon baking pow der. A pinch of salt. Two eggs. Drop yolks of two eggs Into tho melted butter and sugar anil beat well. Add tho cocoanut and salt. Dissolve soda in one-fourth cup hot water. Add oats and one and one-half cups of flour -with the baking powder sifted, adding lust one-half cup flour sparingly. Add the whites of eggs well beaten. Then followed the' program given by tho children of both , schools under their teachers,. Mr.1, Howell and Mrs. Miller. Sickness among the "Alicel pupils' detained ( many of them, but they gave some I reading's, supplementing a' varied and clever program of tho other j schools, whose pupils were all able ! to be present.
