During much of the past week frequent snow (lurries accompanied by cold winds have tonded to make alt classes of outside work qulto dis agreeable.: The soil In moat of the i fields has' become sufficiently dry to allow working them at this time j. and much of the spring seeding has f been finished recently. Homo X farmers say they could have seed j1; ed earlier but were afraid to tHke the chanco on doing no beeuuHo of u damaging freeze which might ft. come later In the seaHon after the fit grain had become Blurted. At a h number of times In past years -S niuh damage haa resulted to crops of Federation wheat from hard freezes in late May und uurly Juno. The alfalfa crops on the Irrigated lands along the valley are much behind what they usually are ut .v this season of the year. The cold w weather has prevented alfulfa -J making any start to epeuk of un til recently. The sumo condition also prevails In regurd to the it growth :of domestic granites which are Used for pasture purposes on the Irrigated farms, while much '. of the pasture Is being used ut this ' time it is not large enough to pro vide veoy good forage. . . The 'condition of the winter j wheat rops appears to be above ' normal;, in nearly all parts of tho county. f According to reports from i farmer the grain camo through t the winter with good stands gonor- ally and the cool weather of the ij past few weeks appeurs to have been very beneficial in causing tho grain to stool out well .
