Hake poiutoew and cm n thin flict from Hat side. Scrape out soft part,' leaving a shell about 1-4 inch thick, lircak up potato left in shell and season with little butter. Kill w it h ham mixture and cover with a rough layer of point -j forced through rieer. Sprinkle with papri ka and reheat in hot oven. To make rn-auied hum scald milk with cel ery and onion in top of double boil er. Heat over hot water for 15 minutes Iteuiove celery and onion and stir In Hour ami butter rubbed together. Few 1 eluded the cliallengc of the glorious air. the blue sky uhd I he suilliuer breezes yesterday. There were few SpolS lit' the county that were not dotted with picnickers, lew streams Unit did not have their share of happy ang lers. Swimming pools were splash ing nil day lung with lively swim mers and white flannelcd tennis players kept the balls hopping on the city eouits from morning un til sundown. Then there was the (. S. I, week end party at Wallowa Lake that provided an unforgettable two days of jollity and spurt for some hun dred young folk. That event alone Mould qualify the weekend as one of the most delightful of the sum mer. I And, too, there was the husband and wire golf tourney at the La Crunde country club that kept the fairways dotted with mixed four somes all through- the day. These are proving popular events with the golfers ot the city. Tim day was a happy ending to an Interesting week of social af fairs in La lintnde. Twenty members of the Iris camp of the Koyal Neighbors from La Crnnde were delightfully enter tained at Haker Saturday by mem bers of the Kernl-af camp of that city. The affair took the form of a picnic and was given at the Ha l.er city park. The La Ornnn lodge members arrived In linker at tihout II o'clock. The picnic lunehenn was spread at noon and v fa My .Ml.
