He l'so had three years work at the Washing ton Slate college at Pullman, be fore he left to join the marine corps. While in the service lie was stationed at Mare Island. Dinner lYesh shoulder of pork stuffed and rousted, potatoes baked with meat, brown gravy, apple sauce, endive, bread and butter, scalloped cranberries, coffee. I tired Potatoes with Checte. Two cups potatoes, 1 cup milk, I egg. j cup cheese, 1 teaspoon salt, teaspoon naouer. Heat mill into potatoes and sea son with salt and pepper. Sepa rate white and yolk of egg. Heat yolk till thick and add o potato mixture. Add cheese. Heat whit till stiff and dry, and fold Into mix ture. Turn Into a buttered baking dish and bake 20 minutes In a hot oven. Mashed potatoes may be used in place of riced potatoes and then less milk Is necessary. Scalloped CranlKrWes. One pint cranberries, cup su gar, t cups soft bread crumbs. 1-3 cup melted butter, H cup seeded raisins, sugar, grated lemon rind. Hotter a baking dish and put in a layer of crumbs. Wash and pick over cranberries. Parboil in water tu which teaspoon of soda has been ad-led. Then boll for It) min utes with sugar and a cup of wa. lor. Add a layer of cranberries to bread crumbs, sprinkln with a 'Ut ile sugar and u few raisins. Add a layer of crumbs, pour . over but ler, und add a layer of berries, su gar, raisins and grated lemon rind.
