The Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, met Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Neff, hostess. About twenty ladles WRhl present. The lople, discussed under the leader ship of - Mrs. Itert Powell was "Friendship Via Christianity."- Mrs. Webb played two piano selections, follow'ed by a- reading by Mrs. i Powell. Following the progrnm luncheon was served by Mrs. Neff, Mrs. Sto.rmer and Mrs. Yeck. The Jolly Workers Sunday school class of the Baplist church gave a party yesterday afternoon In the The Tidies of Moosehenrt Le sion met at the home of Mrs. C. S. Shutlz Thursday afternoon. Games were the feature of the af ternoon with Mrs. Chan. Hunyan and Mrs. 1'ierce winning the first prizes mid Mrs. W. Cass and Mrs. Kllnghumcr consolation. Thn home was decorated in accordance with Washington's blrlhduy anniversary ,nnd before adjournment luncheon was served hy the hostess, assisted hy Mrs. Lou Stoop. The, Junior Woman's Rervlce League of St. Peters Episcopal church met last evening at the home of Mrs. O. N. I Hot Lake (Special) Patients and staff members at the Hot jke Sanatorium were entertained Frl 'day evening by a program put on !by "home talent." Miss Mildred t Evans opened the program with two songs. "A Pal That I Loved Stole the Qlrl That I Loved," and j "Too Tired." These were followed hy readings" by Miss Rlnnche How ell, "Miss January Jones lecture on Women's Rights" and "If 1 Could Be Vy Her" proved to be particularly entertaining. Charlie Ilrotherton, alwoys a favorite solo ist, added to tho program by sing ing. "Where My Caravan Has Rest ed" and "One More Day." Miss LoVlne played two beautiful s' lec tions from MacDowell. "To A Wild Rose" and "From an Indiana Lodge." Dr. W. T. Phy gave a short talk on the "Modern Flapper." Treot Ing the subject first lightly and then seriously. The "Hot Lake Dip" danced by Miss Peggy Plastlno and Miss Mil dred Evans. An Improvised negro dance with appropriate costume literally "brought down the house." After the performance the two dancers went up to the hospital and entertained lhos- patients who were not well enough to be moved down stairs In wheel chairs, but who wished to s.-e the dance.
