Taylor whoso reservoir just south of ton n has been a successful breeding place for the fish. A number uf attempts have been made by various sporting1 organi zations and Individuals to stock the Hlouphs of the valley und the small ponds In the vicinity with bass. For the most part these attempts huve been scemlmtly tin successful. At least very few bass are caught In the course of the season by local sportsmen. This is partly due, no doubt, to ignorance of the methods used In taking the fish but It seems cer tain that comparatively few buss live after planting. Morgan lake, west of tho city, was stocked at one lime with small mouth buss and wus excel lent flshlnp during one season, What huppened to the fish after thuL Is a mystery. Tho general impression Is that the June wus drained und that the fish died from this cause.
