We notice that the Union show crowd elected George
Hudson to head next year's show and in the list of helpein
we find Dr. W. T. Phy, "Cad" Cudwell, L. A. Wrijiht and
the other workera for the stock show, fnun Union.
Those men are the type that keep constantly at it and
Its a result each year Union's show jets liijyjjer and liigsror.
No doubt there are times when all of the men . who will
head the show next year have felt like quitting, but there
is no place to quit. The natural course of events should
be for the jri-owing generation to take hold and let the
men who have brought the show up to its present high
standard have a rest. Hut for some unknown reason the
younger generation does, not seem inclined to do the
things which require responsibility and hard work.
Judge McMahan

Probably this way of addressing L. II. McMahan, the
Abraham Lincoln appearing statesman of Marion county
seems n little strange for he was always called plain
"Mack" which shortened the name of McMahnn. lie was
lerenlly npHiinted judge so he has not had the title veiy
long and he may be just a little awkward with it.
A little awkwardness is not a crime, and we do not
ligree with n number of newspapers over Oingon in their
r-tatemenls that MtMahan's appointment was a poor one.

. We have known "Mack" for a good many yenrs. He is
