McCarthy Denounces The
Sale of Seattle Club
SAN FRANCISCO, July 10. Wil
liam McCarthy, president of the Pa
cific Coast league, in a statement
made public here Monday denounced
the sale of a part interest in the
Seattle club to K. C). Harvey, rnir
poiteil owner of the Wichita Falls,
Texas, club of the Texas league, as
an attempt on the part of William
Wrigloy, Jr., lo "cover up" on the
recent purchase of the club. The
latter, McCarthy said, is known to
he interested financially in the Wich
ita Fallsi club.
The league president also ex
pressed his belief that no effort will
he made to arrange Seattle repre
sentation on the board of directors
until November.
Mis views were not shared by
Harry I. Stafford, league attorney,
who predicted that Seattle owners
and league directors friendly to
them would ask for a special meet
ing within a short time.
