The result is that prices have shewn a general down ward trend. Declines, however, have not been extensive and are not likely to become so, in view of the fact that fundamentally t he lumber industry remains in a strong position. Ketail trade remains heavy, ami yards which recently carried heavy stocks us a result of large, almost simultaneous, receipts on o!d order, are steadily moving out this lumber.
