At no time in the past seven or eitfht years kus there been as much pre-r.sseiably satisfaction with the program ab thefe is this sea-n, for th. lecture numbers and t he music are all nuw and fresh with ono exception, and that exception is not objectionable. This one instance icfers to that old sage of the lecture platform, Opie Head, who has been here bet ore, but a long time ago. With the as.-embly two weeks away, there remains much to be done in the way of Ironing nut details but the directors ate on the job; committees are at work, tfnd wlu-n the platform manager ealles the, fir.-it meeting to order, everything will be "fine and dandy.' , Scanning the program at this date, ad checking up on nuvanee descrip tion of the various types of entertain ment to be presented, one c-'nnot but feel that a fine lot of entertainment is in toie for Chautauo.ua patrons. There is the mystic magician, health clinics, must by opei a star to which gre.it sums are paid for ono performance; there arc nove'ty mu sicians, clean fun-makers; there1 i Opie iKeail, and n fine galaxy of lec turers along with him; there is a play .which, like last year, takes the place of a big band. The day's of big bands on chautauqua platforms are "gone forever." But the play this year ts one that will certainly meet with favor. "Cappy Ricks1 is the vehicle for these star to shine from. Every one has rend the "Cappy P.icks" stor ies and will l:e interested in their production on the p'tt form -fit". Transporation Problem is Adequately Solved Slow progress with the construc tion of the new jfrde to the city park will spell some inconveniences with vehicle transportation and those who walk to and from the ground. this year. Victory Way is progressinu slowly and there will be no adequate sidewalk facilities nor will the stieet.i be in the best of shape. However the city is co-operating with thy Chautauqua management in making the very best possible ar rangement tinder the conditions. The streets will be sprinkled freely, and the sidewalk, or what will be a side walk when it is finished, will be given attention for temporary ue.
