At this moment tho burning legal question In New York State Is as to the advisability of capital punish ment. It is occupying the mind of humanitarians and has Inspired the powerful photodrama of "God's Law," which Lois Weber has pro duced for the Argosy Film Company. This Intensely dramatic appeal to people or all classes Is to bo pre- sonted at tho Star Theatre today and tomorrow. Tho story deals with the question as to whether circum stantlal evidence should send i doomed man to the electric chair. If you have any scruples about serving on Juries In murder cases you should not miss this opportunity to ease your mind in this regard. Tho pict ure tells tho story of the, mysterious murder or a well-to-do runner nnd his sister. The hired man Is sue pocted simply because there Is no definite ovldence pointing to the real criminal. He Is subjected to "third degreo" methods and confosses with out realizing his great danger. Drought to trial he Is found to bo a pitiful mental defective with the mind of a child of soven. Without money or "pull" of any sort his con ditlon nrousese a state-wide sympa thy. He is convicted principally on his pitiful confession and is sen tenced to death. During his stay In tho donth houso a keeper becomes convinced of his Innocence. With the help of a woman lawyer who Is doing good work In tho prison, the story of tho mystery murder Is gradually worked out. Tho facts show that the condemned man Is really a victim or circumstantlnl evidence. A few min utes before tho fatal signal for his death, while his wlfo Is waiting out- sido the prison walls for his body, new evidence la discovered and a hu mane Judge grants a stay of execu tlou. See this thrilling photo drama and become convinced of tho Injus tice of "third degree" methods. And for tho snko of huninnlty'you should not fall to sen this picture In order to lorn why it is tntit philanthropic people and others equally Interested are fighting against capital punlsh- llU-Ilt.
