This is as ' much of the story of "Seven Keys to Badpate" as vould be fair to reveal. There is a unique solution to the prob lem, worked out in George M. Cohans highly dramatic and original manner, piesenting ill all a particularly en tertaining film, as the current attrac tion of the Arcane Theatre. 6 m In the Arena m a GEO COHAN IN MYSTERY FARCE DRAFTED George Washington Mngee, a novel ist, makes a wager with the owner of Baldpatc Inn that he can write a story in 24 hours. Seeking seclusion, Magee borrows thokey to iiuldpate, a bummer hotel mow locked up for ths winter, and with his typewriter retires to an upper room of the desert ed hostelry to write his story. There enters the hot.il office one John Bland, an employe of a street railway mag nate, who plarss $200,000 in the hotel safe a bribe to be called for later by the Mayor of Reuton. Magee sur prises Bland, who draws a pistol, but a moment later tho novelist tricks him and locks him in a room. Forth with, however, Magee is confronted by a third intruder, Mary Norton, a r.owspaper reporter on tho trail of the bribery affair. Magee falls in love with Mary and complications crowd still more closely upon one another's heels. In all, seven persons, includ- WILLFUL UP I GUARD (United Press) Washington, I). C, Oct. 15. The War Department announced that it will transfer men from the National Army to the National Guard camps so as to bring the latter organizations to war strength. Practically every section of the country is affected. Camp Lewis, Tacoma, sends 3000 to California, Nevada and Utah quotas to the Fortieth division. Arrangements for transportation will be made -by the commanding general of the Western Department.
