(By mail) (Unit ed Press) Over $50,000, found on soldiers who have lost their lives in France, is waiting at the war office to Ibe claimed by the next-of-kin of the dead men. As the war office is still asking for the next-of-kin of sold iers who died seven years ago leaving sums of money, it is not expected that much of the present fortune will ever be claimed. Do you know that the cases of ty phoid fever among the Spanish- American .war soldiers in 1898 (be- tore the discovery of typhoid vaccine) amounted to 8.8 per cent? (See U. S. Army Reports.) Do you know that when the 14th regiment, N. Y. N. G., U. S. arrived at Camp Whitman from the Texas border the cases of paratyphoid, to gether with the healthy, active car riers, amounted to 17 per cent? Double that of 1898! (Appleton's Medical Dictionary, Jan. 1916, defines it: 'Pnratyphoid Resembling tvnhoid servant fever or the typhoiod bacillus. Do you know that nearly 70,000 British soldiers (all vaccinated for typhoid immunity) were sent home from the Gallipoli Peninsula with tu berculosis? Do you know that New York City statistics show thnt cancer has in creased there fully 225 per cent since 1870? (See newspaper re ports and report of the State Board of Health.) Do you know that the recurrence of the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in 1915 was due to infected anti-hog cholera serum? (See Report of the Bureau of Animal Industry for September 28, 1915.) Do you know that following thii discovery the Canadian government passed a law prohibiting the use of these serums? I never was vaccinated and I alw.ivs preached against it, because I had read just as high authorities against it as for it and I had the right to decide for myself, and I shall never be vacci nated for anything unless forced to bv government authorities. But in spite of the fact that the modern age is rapidly doing away irom orugs (and my dad is a drug gist) many doctors still insist on in jecting all kinds of rotten vaccine and serum into the blood when they know that any foreign object into the blood stream, no matter how it is sterilized, to absolutely against nature and she immediately puts up a fight to throw it off, hence the festering and the swollen arm and the pains, etc. She warns you by pain that it is foreign to her nature. Food contracts placed by the govern ment show the American fighters will have four kinds of tea, coffee and plenty of granulated sugar, pickles, all sorts of peppers and spices, potatoes, onions, flour for biscuits, hard bread, cane syrup, vanilla and lemon flavor ings, lard, butter, canned and dried fish, vegetables, apples and peaches. Dodson, ex-Mayor of Sher wood, and nine members of his fam ily are confined to their home with typhoid fever, caused by drinking wa ter from a well at the home of his mother, near McMinnville. Passports Denied Socialists. London, July 23. -(Special) The government has refused passports to delegates O'Brien and Campbell of the Irish trade union contrress and the labor party to proceed to Stockholm and Petrograd.
