Finds Indian Relic.
An Indian war hatchet, a irelic of
the past days vvas found on the Mc
Chire farm near Ladd Canyon re
cently by J. N. McClure. The hatchet
which was used by the (Indians for
hewing purposes and hot a war
hatchet is a perfect specimen. It is
one rarely found in this community as
the Indians of this immediate vicin
ity so the old pioneers tell us were
not stone cutters of renown. It has
been placed on exhibit by City Man
ager Currey in tne G. S. Birme Jew

Funeral services of the late H. B.
Pidcock were held ' at the L. D. iS.
church yesterday afternoon at 4:30
p. m. D. O. McKay and Bishop Nibley,
of Salt Lake, and 'Bishop Black, of
the local church, pronounced the last
rites over the deceased. The church
was crowded with the many friends of

The body left la3t evening on No. 18
for Ogden, Utah, whele interment
will take place tomorrow afternoon.

Riding all night, Mrs. W.' S. Allison,
Miss Bessie Allison, Mrs. J, L. Mc
Crary and son Arthur arrived in this
city about 3 o'clock Sunday morning.
Leaving Portland Friday noon the
party stayed all night at The Dalles
the first night but concluded that they
would come on through the next day.
Their last jaunt was almost a con
tinuous ride for twenty-four hours.
The Allison family returns to this
city to live after a sojourn of about
nine months in Portland where Miss
Bessie Allison has been attending the
Jefferson high school. Miss Allison
completed her high school work this
year and received her diploma of
graduation last Tuesday. Mr. Allison
came through with Mr. John Quin
land but took more time for his trip
arriving in the city Sunday evening.
