The new law was opposed in the
legislature but passed both houses
with a big majority the vote in the
Senate being 24 for and one against
the bill.
Th law renu ires of the osteopaths
the same amount of college work as
is reouired of the ecclectic, allopath
or homeopath. The examinations have
been and will continue to oe me same
for all and are given by the Oregon
Stat Hoard of Medical Examiners
which is composed of one osteopathic
physician and five medical pnysi-
cians.

The present law, therefore, recog
nizes osteopaths as "physicians and
surgeons" and entitles them to prac
tice "Osteopathy and the Science of
Healing as taught in tne brancnes

Rev. G. L. Clark delivered his splen
did address "The Knight of the Fire
Kirk" at the Commencement exercises
of the Union high school last evening
before the large audience of parents
and friends or the graduates wno
gathered in the First M. E. church
for the occasion. One thing note
worthy in the graduating class was
the even number of boys and girls.
Eight boys and eight girls ended
their hiirh school days by receiving
as their reward their diplomas which
were presented by the chairman 01
the board of education, S. E. Miller.
Seated on the platform spaciously
bedecked with their patriotic class
colors, 'red white and blue, were the
members of the class, members of
the board of education, S. E. Miller
and 'W. Halsey. Kev. H. A. Brown,
of the Union Presbyterian church,
and Rev. G. L. Clark, of the La
Grande Presbyterian church, and Su
perintendent of Schools E. E. Arant.
