Mrs. Masterson came in from Elgin Sunday. . Joe McClaran returned from Port land Sunday. Hans Fernstad made a trip to En terprise Sunday. Mr. McCardle came in on Sunday for a short stay. Mrs. Macffntyre returned on Sun day from a trip to Portland. ' Waldo Bratton came in from Haines on the train Sunday. Edith McKenzie and Olive Goff re turned from Minam Sunday. Mrs. Otto Hunter was a passenger on the train to Enterprise Sunday. Mrs. J. O. Kiddle of Lostine visited with relatives and friends last Friday and Saturday. Misses Lenna Marvin and Florence Coleman returned last Thursday after spending a day in La 'Grande. Mrs. Martha Russell, of Elgin, vis ited with the family of her brother J. P. Morelock the first of the week. Mrs. Bettie Bailey and Miss Ada Mallory, who have been staying at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Gilmore of Flora, went to the Grouse country last week for a visit before enlisting as Red Cross nurses for Uncle Sam. Paul Brace left for Enterprise Sun day after spending a week with friends and relatives here. Wm. Lydle was called to Walla Walla Monday on account of the ill ness of his brother's wife. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Sannar and son, Lester, returned to Enterprise on Sunt day after spending a few days in Wallowa. John Bratton, who was taken to the Wallowa hospital last Friday night, with a slight attack of appendicitis, is outagain and will not have to undergo an operation at this time at least. C. K. Bue and wife, who have been residents of Wallowa for the past several years move to Enterprise last Saturday. ' They expect to live in the county seat town for the summer at least. 1 Orell Poole left Tuesday for Van couver Barracks. Orell is one of our boys who enlisted to serve his coun try in this war. He goes in the wire less division of which he has had con siderable experience. J. N. Howe of Eugene came in on Wednesday's train for a visit with his daughter, Mrs. Jasper Bogue. Mr. Howe is a painter and .paper hanger by trado and may conclude to locate in our city. (Special) Benjamin Franklin Ogle, pioneer of Pendleton and wealthy wheat man died Saturday morning at 3 o'clock at the age of 76 years.
