John Bratton, who was taken to the
Wallowa hospital last Friday night,
with a slight attack of appendicitis, is
outagain and will not have to undergo
an operation at this time at least.
C. K. Bue and wife, who have been
residents of Wallowa for the past
several years move to Enterprise last
Saturday. ' They expect to live in the
county seat town for the summer at
least. 1
Orell Poole left Tuesday for Van
couver Barracks. Orell is one of our
boys who enlisted to serve his coun
try in this war. He goes in the wire
less division of which he has had con
siderable experience.
J. N. Howe of Eugene came in
on Wednesday's train for a visit with
his daughter, Mrs. Jasper Bogue. Mr.
Howe is a painter and .paper hanger
by trado and may conclude to locate
in our city.

Pendleton Pioneer Dead.

Benjamin Franklin Ogle, pioneer of
Pendleton and wealthy wheat man
died Saturday morning at 3 o'clock
at the age of 76 years. He had been
