Chief of Police reports six crrests, of which two were state and county cases, two for drunkenness, one for traffic violation, and one for pawn shop violation. (United Press) And speaking of taking a gambler's chanco, Mrs. L. C. Parrish, 314 Main street, is tolling a story to her friends today which would make a wooden cigar store Indian risk every cent he had on any kind of a game. Mrs. Parrish went to a mov ing picture show the other day and as she paid her admission she received a chanco in a turkey drawing. She won the turkey. That, however, was only the beginning of her luck. In tho kitchen nt homo she opened up the turkey and in the bird's craw she found several nuggets, which her jew eler told her were worth several dol lars. Now Mrs. Parrish is hoping that her luck will continue. She is trying to find nomo trace of the birth place and gather some knowledge of the early training of Mr. Turkey. The year s work shows a substantial increase in mem bership, in benevolences, and in gen oral church activities. W. F. Landrum, J. K. Wright and W. B. Pickens were re-elected for a term of three years as ruling elders. Also L. B. Moe. C. E. Anderson and E. E. Norris.were re-elected for a term of three years as trustees. As an evidence of the service of the pastor, G. L. Clark, an increase in sal ary was unanimously voted.
