Ken ncdy in Motography. , Henry Walthall's first appearance in a Triangle offering is made in a film adaption of Ibsen's "Pillars of Society," a play in which the famous dramatist scores hypocrisy. Mr. Walt hall' nrtinir in the role of Karsten Bernick, who has done much to fur ther the position of his house in tne community at the expense 01 an other's good name, is one of the fea tures of this interest compelling pic ture. Karsten after considering himself a "Pillar of Society" for years spent in jealously guarding his name finally admits the truth of his wife's state ment that "the nillars of society are Truth and Freedom." From the time he left Paris and a rather Bohemian life, Karsten has held himself off from l.nth Truth nnl Freedom. It is very probable that the play loses something in dramatic effect in being brought to the screen as it here is, but that has nothing to do with the fact tha his picture is interesting. The production is remarkably good and so, too, is the acting in all cases. The play, laid in Norway, has an im pressive atmosphere, the selection of types, locations and interior settings showing great care and fine judgment on the part of the director, R. A. Walsh. Mary Alden's characterization of Iiona Tennesen, is excellent, and Geo. Beranger really lives the part Johan Tonncsen, the young man whose visit to the actress to peal for Karsten is the signal for the hypocrits in the community to shun him, and Karsten fails to clear his name until Lona, and fate, open his eyes to the truth. The cast is completed by Olga Gray, Juanita Archer and Josephine B. Crowel. The story and the characters are very real, tl is pleasing and re freshing to witness a play in which a theme of this type receives real dra matic treatment and whose characters are so true to popular conceptions. On great feast days like Easter. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's the churches are filled to overflowing. People GO TO CHURCH to honor God and thank him for his blessings. Don't wait for these feast days to GO TO CHURCH and then stav away from church for the remainder of the vear. EVERY SUNDAY is a feast day of the church. AS A RESULT OF THE COUNTRY WIDE GO TO CHURCH MOVEMENT THERE HAS BEEN A SPLENDID INCREASED AT TENDANCE IN THE CHURCHES. BUT THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE BEEN DEAF TO THE CALL.
