Letting the elusive ivories in a fifteen ball pool'feated the Roesch Alley team Tues game decide his inclination to follow a ' military career, James Taylor Hart man lost the game and immediately enlisted in the United States marine corps, emulating the hero of "Under Two Flags," who was willing to let the toss of a coin determine his alle giance to either the French or their enemy. -. The young man passed an excellent examination at the local recruiting station, but could not make up his mind to enlist before trying this orig inal way of deciding once for all to follow the fortunes of the "soldiers of the sea." Hartman, who takes an optimistic view of life, despite his fatalistic be liefs, left today for the marines train ing station at Mare Island, Cal., fully convinced that the gods of chance are the wisest counsels. Turning the knob even a trifle rings a bell in a new lock for home doors. Watts Watt Talks No. 1 Our experience leads us to believe that a large number of our customers do not know just what they are paying for when they pay their monthly electric bills, outside of the fact that they switch ed on the light, heat or power during the month as they needed it Now there is no secret about it and you should know what you are geting for your money, just as you know what you got when you paid your grocery or meat bill, so in these advertisements we are going to explain some of the "mysteries." In the meantime call at our office and get a free copy of a book published by the Uni versity of Oregon called "Elementary Primer of Electricity for Light and Power Customers.'' You will be surprised and interested in the information it gives in terms easily understood by everyone. WATCH FOR THE NEXT WATTS WATT TALK P. S.
