Andrew Wilkinson, an old resident of Union, is in La Gi-ande today on business matters. Chas. Davis and Sam Benson and their families motored over from Union this morning for a short visit. District Attorney and Mrs. Colon R. Eberhard and children have gone to Bayocean to enjoy the sea and rest a few days, Russell Bangs, located at North Powder in the automobile business, went to Spokane this morning on bus iness matters. A. P. Snapp and famil left this morning for Blue Springs south of town to commune with nature for a week or ten days. Miss Margaret Newlin has returned from Portland where she attended Buyei'3' week for the Newlin Book & Stationery company. iBobby Lyman, barber in the Som mer hotel, went to Portland Saturday evening to spend a week, and in cidentally will see the big bouts on the cast side luesday evening. Mr. ahd Mrs. Marion McMurray have returned from Gooding, Idaho, where they have been for the past three months. The return trip, made ay team, consumed ten days. Mrs. Carrie P. Wellman, former well known resident of La Grande and the aunt of members of the Snod- grass family, is here from Palo Alto, Cal., on a vacation and visit. Mr. and Mrs. Nate Zweifel and chil dren and Mrs. Frank Bay and daugh ter "Babe" leave Wednesday overland tor Portland, seaside and WUUamettc valley points, lhey expect to be gone several days enjoying their vacation, Mr. and Mrs. L.
