Tokio, Japan, July 21 (Friday), 10
a. m. The concluding- of the Russo- i
Japanese Convention, the object of
which is to unify the efforts of the
two countries to maintain pence in i
the Far East, has been enthusias- j
tically celebrated in the principal eit-
ies of the empire. Mammoth mani
festations were held in Tokio, Yoko
hama and Osaka.
Marquis Okuma, the Premier, in
discussing the convention, said that
it not only guarantees permanent
peace in the Far East, but will con
tribute to the peace of the whole
world. He things it signifies para
mount possession by Japan and Rus
sia in the Orient. ,
Premier Okuma expressed the opin
ion that the peace of Europe will be
restored before long.
